How does a Classic Woman Accessorise

All of us have primary and secondary personalities.

Classic Accessories

Classic Accessories by claremaxfield featuring a black ball point pen

If you do not know your personality yet, go ahead and do the quiz which I have here.

You might find when you read through this outline that your clothing is definitely one personality whilst you embrace another side of your personality through your accessories.

If you are a predominant Classic personality you might enjoy these accessories or scroll down to see how other personalities may adapt to Classic accessories.

General description of the Classic Woman’sAccessoriess

Your accessories will be like you timeless and simple. You will favour precious metals in silver gold in very simple designs. Chains with simple pendants, pearls, stud earrings. If you wear a hat it will be simply adorned. In winter a felt cloche or Panama and in summer it will be a straw sun hat.

You will love precious stones and prefer the higher quality ones. Diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. You will prefer quality over quantity.

Belts and handbags for you will again be simple in a high-quality leather. Evening bags may be in a patent leather and you might even have black patent court shoes in your wardrobe over suede or any other non-leather finish.

Scarves, when worn, will be a structured knot as opposed to some of the more carefree styles worn by other personalities.

You will select accessories which are in balance with your features as opposed to anything which is smaller or larger. You are all about balance and harmony and looking smart and not imposing.

How you will express the other personalities.

Classic Accessory Variations

Creative – You will play with a pop of colour. Something that you find quirky and fun. It won’t be overkill though as that would be too much for you.

Dramatic – You will wear a bold red, electric blue or something with sharp geometrics edges to it. Your pieces will be slightly larger and noticeable.

Elegant Chic – This is so close to your own style that it is not a real stretch. I can see you wearing over scale pearls with gold instead of silver.

Feminine – You could pop on a cameo brooch or wear a watch with a chain band as opposed to your standard leader band. Your earring and other accessories will be more delicate with a possible filigree finish. Potentially a few diamantes on your glasses.

Natural – This is when you swap your loafers for espadrilles, you will slip on a t-shirt, well ironed of course and a bracelet or necklace with amber or another natural stone.

Rebellious – You will hide your subversive side in a print on a scarf or some extra mates work on a handbag.

How to make your neck look longer or shorter

Some of us love our necks. Others just wish they were longer or shorter. There is absolutely nothing you can do to lengthen your neck, unless you wish to join the Kayan long-neck women in Myanmar and place brass coils around from your neck from birth. A tad extreme if you ask me.

Luckily there are plenty of fashion options you can employ to add to or subtract from the length of your neck. Read on for many solutions to make your life easier.

Lengthen:

To bring the focus to your throat, or even to make your neck appear longer use these tips.

  • Expose your décolletage
  • Wear grecian necklines
  • Keep tops low
  • Off the shoulder
  • Open up your neckline with open collars and lower necklines
  • Vests can create a vertical opening up to your neck
  • Wear draped scarves and long necklaces can lengthen as well.
  • Lighter colours can improve the visible length of your neck if you want to wear any of the necklines not recommended.

For further information on what NOT to do, look at the images for shortening your neck.

Shorten:

To decrease the apparent length of your neck apply the following principles.

  • Wear turtlenecks
  • Wear chokers
  • Sailor collars,
  • Boat necks,
  • Mandarin collars,
  • Closed collars,
  • Short necklaces,
  • Gathered necklines,
  • Pussy bows,
  • Halter neck tops and dresses, Darker contrasting colours worn close to the face.
  • Epaulets and shoulder treatments on your garments.

For further information on what NOT to do, look at the images for lengthening your neck and do NOT do them.

If you’d like to know more about what suits you personally you can download any of the books in the Style in 7 Series. This post comes from the Everywoman’s Guide to dressing Your assets.
