Rule of three

The rule of three helps you to keep your appearance fresh and not overly cluttered.

The rule of three says that at any time you should have no more than 3 points of interest in your portrait area. This is the area from your your chest to the top of your head.

When getting ready wear no more that three items in your communication portrait area to give a clear message.

To understand how to add you your points they are accumulated as follows

  • Earrings – large = 2 ( one point per earring)
  • Earrings – small = one for the pair
  • Necklace = 1
  • Print/pattern = 1
  • Glasses = 1
  • Textures = 1

Colours should harmonise with each other and not clash and different textures can also affect your finished look.

The Rule of Three works especially well when you are applying for a job or on a first date. In both instances you want the person you are meeting to see adn hear you. If you have on too many accessories the noise can be too loud for you to shine through.

On the flip side, wearing no accessories can have you looking too dull to appear to have any lasting impact. So balance your look and maximise your impact.

When you get ready today, keep it simple and keep it stylish.
