The Elegant Chic Woman knows who she is and is greatly admired for it. When I consult with women this is the personality that most women that I work with aspire to be. It is a style that can be with you from birth or developed over time.
The Elegant Chic woman will be simple and sophisticated in her accessories. Like the Classic, you will not have many, but they will be quality. You will prefer to lean towards gold and pearl in your adornments.
The pop of red is an iconic statement of the Elegant Chic and you will display it in your belts, handbags and even gloves if the weather is cool enough.
Your jewellery is often estate or heirloom jewellery. It is distinctive and tasteful. The main metal will be gold and it will be substantial, saying that, it will never be gaudy. Rings and pendants will be over scale but never out of proportion.
Handbags will most likely be designer, but not in an overt manner. Leather will feature heavily. It will be plain or textured and rarely patent unless it is an evening shoe you are wearing. Your heels will be modest and you will love loafers. You will wear them with trousers and woollen skirts.
Pendants are likely to be gold coins or similar and fob chains will feature as necklaces or bracelets. Like the Classic, you will favour diamonds, emerald, rubies and sapphires even pearls over the other semi precious stones, except if it is a bracelet or ring inlaid with many coloured gems.
Your belts will be slim as opposed to thicker and you will keep and wear many scarves in both winter and summer around your neck. You will prefer wearing the square scarf over the long scarf.
How you will express the other personalities.
Classic – This is when you pull out your silver jewellery and your navy outfits.
Creative – Your creativity is most likely to be expressed as an extra flourish to a shoe, scarf, jacket or bag. It will not be overly obvious but will catch the corner of someone’s eye.
Dramatic – Most likely you will bring in patent leathers for your handbags and shoes. Your overcall jewellery will scale up to fully oversized and be a true statement piece.
Feminine – All of your jewellery will scale down to balanced, you will wear with pride heirloom pieces and your earrings are likely to be dangling as opposed to a stud.
Natural – A sturdy good quality leather handbag in a shade of beige or brown, minimal jewellery and loafers. You are set to go.
Rebellious – So minimal it will barely rate. You will have metal stud work on your shoes or bags. You will have skulls or similar woven or printed into your scarves.
The Dramatic woman loves to be seen, be noticed and be appreciated. Her accessories will be large and magnificent. there is absolutely nothing subtle here. There are many women, of all personalities who allow a little drama to escape in their accessories. So don’t be surprised if you characterise yourself as a more subdued clothing style. You could still have a little drama escaping in small touches, or should I say, explosive pieces you wear to adorn your body. It might even be a large, substantial gorgeous hadbag and everything else is feminine, classic, elegant or possibly even natural.
To understand your own personality, if you don’t know it yet, do the quiz here.
Your accessories will be over the top and bold. There will be nothing subtle about what you put on your body. Generally speaking though it will be in harmony with your outfit and you will know to keep it to one statement piece at a time.
Hats will be big at the races and wide brimmed in felt for winter or tight weave straw for summer. You are always going to wear a hat as a fashion piece and not for sun protection.
Glasses are more likely going to be a solid acetate frame as opposed to a lighter metal frame or even frameless. You could even wear frames with clear lens if it an effect as opposed to necessity that find you wearing them.
When it comes to jewellery, you will like big and bold pieces. Strong colours, highly polished metals and stones and geometric lines and finishes.
Your handbags and shoes will be in leathers and mostly patent leathers. the minute anything is scuffed, you will fix it and if you can’t you will dispose of it.
How you will express the other personalities.
Classic – This is your quieter self. You will think wearing a piece of jewellery that is to scale as opposed to being over scale is being classical.
Creative – Oh dear, look out, you might go with unexpected prints, colours or styles. Nothing childish or out of harmony. Just unexpected.
Elegant Chic – You will channel your inner Hampton’s wife and wear camel and cream with very over scale pearls and stiletto heels.
Feminine – I can see a large rose brooch on your lapel or rose gold jewellery made with intricately designed fuller links.
Natural – A beaten metal bangle or cuff, patent leather flat shoes or plain black acetate heavy framed glasses.
Rebellious – Studded court shoes, large black resin ring, black leather jacket, black tasselled earrings

General description of the Classic Woman’sAccessoriess
Your accessories will be like you timeless and simple. You will favour precious metals in silver gold in very simple designs. Chains with simple pendants, pearls, stud earrings. If you wear a hat it will be simply adorned. In winter a felt cloche or Panama and in summer it will be a straw sun hat.
You will love precious stones and prefer the higher quality ones. Diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. You will prefer quality over quantity.
Belts and handbags for you will again be simple in a high-quality leather. Evening bags may be in a patent leather and you might even have black patent court shoes in your wardrobe over suede or any other non-leather finish.
Scarves, when worn, will be a structured knot as opposed to some of the more carefree styles worn by other personalities.
You will select accessories which are in balance with your features as opposed to anything which is smaller or larger. You are all about balance and harmony and looking smart and not imposing.
How you will express the other personalities.
Creative – You will play with a pop of colour. Something that you find quirky and fun. It won’t be overkill though as that would be too much for you.
Dramatic – You will wear a bold red, electric blue or something with sharp geometrics edges to it. Your pieces will be slightly larger and noticeable.
Elegant Chic – This is so close to your own style that it is not a real stretch. I can see you wearing over scale pearls with gold instead of silver.
Feminine – You could pop on a cameo brooch or wear a watch with a chain band as opposed to your standard leader band. Your earring and other accessories will be more delicate with a possible filigree finish. Potentially a few diamantes on your glasses.
Natural – This is when you swap your loafers for espadrilles, you will slip on a t-shirt, well ironed of course and a bracelet or necklace with amber or another natural stone.
Rebellious – You will hide your subversive side in a print on a scarf or some extra mates work on a handbag.

Our stomach is one part of our body that many older women would like to hide away from the world. When we are young it can be a sense of joy. It is firm and flat and girls love to wear cropped tops, two-piece swimsuits and figure hugging dresses to display their belly to the world. As we get older gravity, childbirth and life in general, takes its toll and a slimmer, less obvious belly displayed, or should I say, concealed from the world.
This does not mean that it is time for the muu-muu is a must. It just means that with proper styling you can retain the impression of a slender line through the clothing that you wear without the need for strangling corsetry.
